Sarah Jessica Parker Open To The Idea Of A Sequel!

Sarah Jessica Parker will make a second Sex and the City movie - if she can find a balance between her careers as a mother and actress.

Positive early reviews of the new film - an adaptation of the hit TV series - have prompted the 43-year-old to consider following it up with a sequel - but only if it doesn’t drag her away from young James Wilkie, her son with actor husband Matthew Broderick.

When grilled on Good Morning America on Thursday, Parker said,
“You’d have to ask my son… He’d have to be willing to let me be that diligent…

“This last experience has been two years, and it’s been the real last year of my life professionally. And I’ve had to figure out how to make certain that he is well and good. But I’ve been absent in a lot of ways and it’s time for me not to be for a while.”
But she admits the real decision will be based on the first movie’s box office success:
“Honestly, the truth of the matter is I think we’ve felt so privileged to arrive at this day, that we have not uttered the word (sequel). I feel it’s really out of our hands. I don’t know.”

Matthew Broderick Hates To Go Shopping With 'Carrie Bradshaw'!

Matthew Broderick hates shopping trips with his actress wife Sarah Jessica Parker - because she is constantly hounded by autograph-hunting fans.

The Stepford Wives star admits trips to New York’s famous shopping districts often turn into a nightmare, because everyone wants to speak to his superstar wife - especially Sex And The City enthusiasts.

But the actor insists he isn’t bothered that his wife is more popular than he is - because his low-profile allows him to disappear into the background without facing harassment from fans.

He says,
“My wife gets asked for her autograph more than me. When you’re on TV, that’s serious fame. I have never got to that. It happens when we go shopping. She is bothered all day, basically. I sit in the background. At least I can go about my business.”

Sarah Jessica Parker Says SATC Didn't Pay Her A Lot!

Sarah Jessica Parker only agreed to star in various advertising campaigns after Sex and the City ended, because she wasn’t happy with how much she had earned on the hit TV series.

Shortly before the show came to a finish in 2004, the actress became the face of both Nutrisse hair products and Lux soap. She also signed a lucrative deal with Gap to appear in the clothing company’s print ads and television commercials.

She explains,
“The show wasn’t a big network series, so our salaries were never that great. When I started doing things like Gap commercials, it was for financial security.”

SJP Says Jennifer Hudson Gives SATC A Young, Black Face!

Jennifer Hudson was added to the cast of Sex and the City for the cult TV show’s movie adaptation so there would be a young black face in the mix.

Sarah Jessica Parker reveals director Michael Patrick King was very keen to sign Hudson up to play Carrie Bradshaw’s assistant in the much-anticipated new film - because she could serve two huge areas of Sex And The City’s audience.

She explains,
“First of all we needed to have a 20-year-old in this movie; we really have to remember that there is a significant audience now that are very, very young.

“It’s a great way of reminding people who Carrie was when she came to New York; what was New York, what did it mean to her…And African-American women and women of color have been a big part of our audience for a long time (and) we really haven’t been responsible to them.”
And Parker couldn’t imagine a better onscreen assistant for her Bradshaw:
“She is especially lovely in this movie… She is remarkably beautiful and she’s probably about eight inches taller than I am and she is a presence.”
I hope she's not trying to say, "she's probably 8 uhhmm...pounds heavier than I am"! I kid, I kid!

Sarah Jessica Parker's Son Hates Her Designer Clothes!

Sarah Jessica Parker has fallen out of favor with one fashion critic - her five-year-old son James hates her designer outfits.

The 43-year-old’s young tot hates to see the star dressed in glamorous gowns, because he connects Parker’s designer wares with her leaving the house to go to work.

And James gets so upset his mom has to leave him to fulfill her duties as a style icon, he demands she gets changed into something more conservative.

She explains,
“He associates me in a big dress with me having to leave the house, and he associates my hair being up with me being at work. And he is verbal.

“Sometimes he will see me with a dress on and he will ask me to take it off because he thinks that will somehow keep me in the house.”
No wonder he hates it. Look in the mirror before you leave the house SJP!

Sarah Jessica Parker Didn't Want To Do SATC!

Sarah Jessica Parker begged her agent to terminate her Sex & The City contract after signing up for the role.

The star was enjoying life dipping in and out of various New York projects and baulked at the prospect of being tied to a TV show for an entire series.

Her anxiety reached such a critical point, she called her agent in a panic and urged him to talk Sex And The City bosses out of recruiting her.

She says,
“I had a wonderful life in New York. I was doing theater and movies, had plenty of free time and regularly saw my friends - so I was in a panic when I was told that I’d need to be around for regular filming.

“No one could calm me down. I kept thinking, ‘What can I do to escape?’ I’d call my agent, begging, ‘You have to get me out of this. I don’t care what it takes. Even if I’m broke on the street, I can’t do Sex And The City as a series.’”
However, she’s relieved she didn’t act on her irrational fears, following the show’s phenomenal success.

She adds,
“The result, of course, is that they got me on the set for the first day and I never looked back.”
And there she is at the London premiere of Sex & The City: Movie. The dress is beautiful but what's with the nature themed head gear. It's just sick!

Sarah Jessica Parker Does Parade

Sarah Jessica Parker is the cover girl for Parade Magazine's latest issue. She talks about Sex & The City: The Movie, her son and also indulges into the topic of politics.
On Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda and Samantha not young anymore: “Their lives are much less frivolous. They can’t cope with their problems by putting on their sweats and staying up all night and ordering in food and gossiping about the men in their lives. There is less self-absorption but perhaps a little more self-awareness.”

On spending so much time with her 5-year-old son James Wilke: “I put him to bed every night. I get him dressed. I’m the one who gives him his toothbrush. I take him to school every morning. He’s very small, but his personality is 6 feet 4. I’m spending the whole summer with him out at our beach house.”

On being the stricter parent (her husband is Matthew Broderick): “Does it surprise anybody that I would be? It’s not that Matthew spoils him, but he just has a different way of parenting than I do. I was never spoiled. Oh, dear no. I was the baby of the family only for a wee time, and I was lucky to get any attention, let alone be spoiled. A few years ago, I found all our baby books. My two older brothers’ baby books were filled with pictures. Then we found mine, and it only had my name written in it. There was nothing else in there. Not one picture. So there you have it. I’ve been starved for attention ever since.”
Sex and the City: The Movie hits theaters everywhere on May 30th.

SJP Holds No Grudges Against Kim Cattrall!

Sarah Jessica Parker holds no grudges against co-star Kim Cattrall (Samantha), who held out from shooting the Sex and the City movie for years because she wanted more money.

"If I had thought it was any of my business at the time, what I would have said is, 'Isn't it okay for Kim to think the money wasn't right?'" Parker says in the new issue of New York magazine (on newsstands now).

She added, “Perhaps [Kim] was some kind of emotional psychic, because this way we made a better movie.”

Speaking of money, Parker shot down a reporter's theory that her character Carrie Bradshaw has an attraction, conscious or unconscious, to Big because of his big bucks.

"I really don't think money was a criteria [for their romance]," Parker insists. "It never would have occurred to her to take money from a man."

What did attract Carrie to Big? He doesn't care about her shoe obsession!

In the movie, Big buys her a new pad, complete with a huge closet.

"The closet was spectacular," Parker tells Entertainment Tonight. "For her, the closet is the heart of the house.

"That's what's promising about Carrie's relationship with Big," she adds. "He doesn't care [about her love for clothes] — he doesn't judge it."

She wouldn't say whether Carrie weds in the movie, but admits, "we went through 40 or 50 dresses and did fitting after fitting after fitting. They literally came from every continent!"

Parker says the movie — out May 30 — is about "love, silliness and also sadness and loss and disappointment.

"[You see] how friends are necessary and how at a certain point, no one can fix [your problems] but yourself," she adds. "That's the difference of where Carrie is now and where she was in her 20s."

Sarah Jessica Parker Talks About Marital Issues

Sarah Jessica Parker recently spoke about her marriage life and how celebrities are also like normal human beings and how the can also be bad at relationships. SJP revealed she is a very bad wife sometimes, but maintains that she loves her husband, Matthew Broderick, and that she never wishes she wasn't with him!
“I’m really lucky that he is the father of my son, but that doesn’t mean that we always agree on everything. We’ve had some rather treacherous train rides. I’m happy to be with him regardless but I’m sure there are many times he wishes he wasn’t with me.”

“It’s a real privilege to be a part of (our marriage). Sometimes I’m better at it, sometimes I’m really bad at it. There are things about it I like and I want it to work.”
Wow...it sounds like they are either going through a rough patch right now, or have gone through some really bad times. Anyway, I hope they stick with each other...they are good together! FYI, that is the new & final poster for Sex and The City: Movie which hits theaters this summer, May 30th, 2008.

Sarah J Parker Doesn't Regret Relationship with Robert Downey Jr.

Sarah Jessica Parker refuses to regret her tumultuous romance with Robert Downey Jr., because it better prepared her for future relationships.

The Sex And The City star started dating the actor after they met on the set of Firstborn in the 1980s. Downey Jr. publicly battled drug addiction during their seven-year relationship, before the couple split in 1991. But Parker has no regrets over the affair, insisting it made her a better person.

She says:
“Yeah, I probably made some wrong choices, but I’m really kind of glad that I have because you make better choices afterward. You want to have made some wrong choices. You don’t want to get it right so early in life, because it’s all in
